Wilma X is the most universal, compact, lightweight and powerful LED headlight you can buy. No matter if you travel through hot deserts, tundras or the Arctic Circle you will like the versatility of this high-performance headlamp.

With 1100 lumens, Wilma is way brighter than standard competitors H.I.D. systems at 500 lumens and bright than our well-known high-end H.I.D. light Edison. But there are many advantages to the Lupine LED system over standard H.I.D. systems.

LED’s are more durable, upgradeable as technology improves, dimmable to match specific needs, have longer life, and are able to flash, which is impossible with H.I.D. bike lights.

On high beam the Wilma emits an amazingly bright light which easily illuminates demanding technical trails. At Lupine, we looked at every possible way of increasing light output. By using the best LED’s available, our own lens system, coated antireflection glass which gives an extra percentage in performance, and a massive amount of advanced electronics to maximize efficiency at all dimming levels, Lupine not only leads, but defines the class of Personal Extreme Sports and Rescue lighting systems.

A most astonishing characteristic of LEDs is the output on the lower beam settings. H.I.D. lights are only dimmable to a certain extend before they cut out. Halogen lights can be dimmed very easily but the light output and color is generally poor.

So why is the Wilma much better than other LED lights?

We don’t use a combination of 4 standard single collimated lenses . These are available in various sizes, beam patterns and angles but as usual, did not satisfy our demands.

Our lens was customized and developed by Lupine; therefore it works alot more efficiently than a standard optic. Our own lens made it possible to tune the beam pattern and provide an excellent light for night rides. By engineering a special lens array we were able to build a nice and tiny light even with 4 LED’s.

Title : Lupine Lights Thinking Outside the Box
Comments : I wanted to take a second and chime in with a couple of thoughts regarding my Lupine lighting systems and all the non traditional things they do. The majority of you reading this probably already know how well Lupine lights function atop a two wheeled machine hurtling through the thickest of woods on the blackest of nights so the thoughts I wanted to share pertain to all the other applications where these lights excel.

Living in Vermont, where rocks and roots abound, where the temps can routinely drop into the negative double digits requires a dependable light and constantly demands the most from it. Currently I have an X-beam, an Edison 4 in my stable, and based on their performance, plan to add a new Betty 7 to the line up.

Over the years I have come to depend on these lights fo

Comments : ...depend on these lights for so much more than fall night rides on the local trail network. About the same time I purchased my first Lupine Light, the X-beam, is when I started building my off grid house. More times than I could count the sun would be setting with still more work to be done, tools to cleaned up, and food to be prepared, all of this was done while wearing my trusty X-beam. Slipping the headlamp on (the headband option is worth its weight in titanium) and being able to work for hours after the sun went down proved to be invaluable. Even having the ability to charge my light with a 12volt system was just one of the many advantages of using the Lupine technology.

Comments : Since then the house has been built but I have not run out of new ways to use my lights. Being located in Vermont and living in a town with three ski resorts lends itself to some night time fun. Many a night, some friends and I trek up the mountain in the dark with our snowshoes on and snowboards on our back for a little night riding! These lights are wicked bright on a narrow trail in the woods so imagine what kind of illumination you get when you are lighting up the snowy slope in front of you!

Even the dog has benefited from our late night Lupine lit walks in the forest. He gets to romp and I have a piercing beam on my head to keep him in sight in the darkest of conditions.
