Good. Better. Betty
Our most powerful LED light.
7 Cree® XP-G LEDs provide an astonishing 1850 lumens, in a single housing, dim-able from 24W – 1.0W. Our lens for the Betty was custom-developed by Lupine; therefore it works with more efficiency than any standard optic. Our own lens design allows us to harness all 24 watts of beam and provide a perfect beam pattern, creating a most enviable portable lighting package. Our highly-efficient electronic converter always makes sure you get the maximum light output. The big sister of Wilma is offered in four different bike light version sets and one headband-based light set. All Betty sets include our premium charger, the Charger-One, in a rugged CNC aluminum housing and with a digital display.
The brightest Lupine ever. Distant and broad spread, butter-smooth and even beam. What has been valid for all Lupine lamps, is all the more so for Betty: The know-how acquired over 17 years of lamp development and the experience of countless trips through the night. Seven LEDs burn tirelessly in the darkness.
This new Betty II, at 129g, is 20% lighter than our original Betty for improved comfort on body-based mounting applications.
Future upgrades can be accomplished by anyone, even without technical knowledge. For instance, if you already own a 1500 lumen Betty, it's possible to increase its output to 1750 lumen with the 1750 lumen CREE XP-G LED array and lens Upgrade Kit.
I wanted to write a review putting in print what I've told Gretna Bill, which is that I use my Betty II X pro almost every day of the year-- not only when riding our bikes but also to detect bears and lions at night here in Montana, when I'm walking the dogs before going to bed; also for putting on chains in winter, working on trailers in the dark [which it seems is a trailer's favorite time to break down], etc, etc. It is not just a bike light.......there may be 5 days during the course of a year when I do not use my Betty!! Thanks! ~Tim

This is a fantastic headlight—well worth the money. My wife said I look like a motorcycle when I bike at night, which is all the confirmation I need that I’m visible enough. I’ve also used it for night paddling, and the beam really makes my kayak stand out to the many powerboats that pass by. (One of them even stopped to find out what I was!) And there’s nothing better for scanning the shore to find a good place to land the boat.
I also love how versatile the Betty is; it’s great for pretty much any outdoor activity, including water-based ones because the battery is waterproof and the light isn’t harmed by water.
Finally, I have to put in a good word for Bill's customer service at Gretna Bikes. In a word, it was fantastic. Not only did he answer all of my questions, but he put me in touch with another customer who also uses the Betty for kayaking. He definitely went above and beyond the call of duty.

Betty Pro

I just returned from the Longest Day Adventure race in the Catskills. Midnight start and the Betty Pro with 1850 lumen output made quick work of locating the Check Points from long distances. The light head spreads the beam pattern out nicely and eliminates the usual dead-spots common with my last head lamp. The light was put to an additional test in the cave orienteering section, easily illuminating the long sections of tunnel and quickly identifying the proper route.
I placed 1st overall (teams and solo competitors), and my team took first in the coed team division.
