Good, Better, Betty
Comments :
I just got a new Betty headlamp and am very impressed with this light''s capabilities. As an endurance racer I have this light set up in the normal mode with 3-step dimming to get the best combination of battery life and functionality. Most of the time I will leave the lamp at 60%, which is plenty bright enough to navigate tight and twisty singletrack at speeds traveled during the day. On high speed descents I turn it up to 100% when I really need to focus on the trail ahead. At 100% I can rip up a downhill singletrack at over 20mph as if it were mid-day. The Betty is a light that will deliver daytime brightness in the dark of the night and leaves any other headlamp in the shadows.
After lurking on the Lupine website for a while I decided to invest in a Lupine Wilma and the a few months later I bought Betty.
These lights offer an incredible dynamic range of brightness levels/burn time possibilities. I''ve used these lights in 24 hour road events and I can run Betty for 9 hours of night riding and only use 10% of the 7.5A-H battery capacity. Not that long ago, I was changing batteries during the night and running a halogen bulb with dim yellowish light to maximize run time.
For bike commuting applications, you are sure to get noticed by motorists and pedestrians alike. For commuting, I highly recommend a helmet mounted light. This is great for getting noticed when going through intersections. On dark rural roads, you''ll have no problem alerting motorists that

She''s sexy and bright
Comments :
I recently upgraded my Betty 6 lamphead for the latest Betty 1750. Not that she was bad, but sometimes you just need something new and exciting. Without my Betty, night riding would be dark and lonely. All my old accessories were compatible with the new Betty (and she didn''t mind one bit). The new LEDs cast a broader beam, which is pretty amazing given the fact that my old Betty was already stunning. This is the must-have light for night riding. You can rip descents at top speeds as if it were daylight. I recommend the helmet mount for aggressive riding. The factory high-low mode works well for me, however, you can program this light to be super bright or lower the intensity to save on the battery life. This light is highly recommended and won''t disappoint. Thanks, Bill, for the outstanding customer service.
